Sustainability Pledge

Sustainability-Our motto at ShopVendre is Reduce, Rewear, Upcycle.

Reduce-Our purpose is to keep the things we want in circulation longer. If one person is done using it, it may still be of use to someone else. This practice will help reduce creating unwanted waste needlessly. Less waste=less in the landfill and our oceans. Less demand=less production of more “new” waste.

Rewear-The average garment is only worn 7 times before it is tossed for next seasons’ “it” clothes. If we rewear what we already have, we can keep it from ending up in garbage heaps in third world countries or polluting our oceans. Buying less “new” clothes, especially from fast fashion manufacturers, will force them to produce less wasteful clothing, if there is less demand.

Upcycle-We encourage the transformation of used items into other useful items. Repurposing items will get more use out of the materials we already have, without adding more carbon to the environment by new manufacturing.

At ShopVendre we pledge to do our part to fulfill all of the above to the best of our ability. In addition, we encourage our sellers to try to use alternatives to plastic or non-biodegradable packaging to reduce plastic waste and further pollution of our environment.
